Music Breathes

Music Breathes are a group breathe with live music.  The group consciousness is brought into awareness as a support for the individual healing process. This means we welcome the group as having a collective energy of its own, but also space for us to breathe for our individual work.

Sometimes it is important to have experienced an individual session beforehand so Suzanna will interview first-timers by phone to discuss what may be most appropriate for each attendee.

Suzanna’s experience in healing ceremonies and groupwork has connected her with many specialised and talented musicians whose focus has all been the same – to create a space where the Soul can find rest and heal.

Adrian Freedman is a friend and ceremonialist who is a master musician.  He has held over 2000 ceremonies and can pick up any instrument and play it at ease.  His particular love is the Shakuhachi Flute who’s existence was solely for the Enlightenment of the Zen Buddhist monks.

Suzanna also works with other musicians each with their particular ‘medicine’ for the Breathes.

Veli Martin Keitel – guitar, piano & flute, Prema Love – Harp, Hans Schuldheis – Didgeridoo, Russell Stone – Indian singing, overtoning & chanting, Sophie Pullinger – Sacred Sound Healing

Space to Breathe – Shakuhachi Breathe with Adrian Freedman

The Music Breathes are where we breathe together in a group.  It is a different experience than a one-to-one.  The Conscious Connected Breath together with the Shakuhachi flute takes us to the edge of silence and beyond.

The conscious connected breath or rebirthing breath is an effective healing tool that naturally brings deep healing & insight into our daily lives. Once we surrender to its rhythm, its infinite intelligence finds our blockages, conscious or unconscious and clears them: leaving an amazing feeling of freedom, being re-energised and re-connected with our deepest truth.

We shall breathe lying down cosy on sheepskins, with blankets and cushions. Suzanna will guide the breathing with other experienced breathworkers. The aim is to relax, stay conscious, present and in the body, breathing into whatever feelings are coming up in the body. Sometimes this can bring deep emotion.. other times deep bliss, always clearing.. and always you lead.  At the end of the Breathe you should feel a completion, feeling clear inspired and energised, having completed a breathing cycle.

The Shakuahachi is a traditional bamboo flute originating in a spiritual practice known as suizen (blowing zen). It evolved as a meditation aid for the Komoso Japenese Zen monks of nothingness. The sound of the shakuhachi comes from the edge of silence, crossing boundaries of time and culture to echo in the soul.

With the conscious breathing it inspires deep relaxation and healing.

Suzanna and Adrian have worked in many ceremonies together and from these experiences developed the Shakuhachi Breathe.

Breath is Life.  It is so simple that to create relationship with it, is to know oneself in the most profound way.

Adrian Freedman is a composer, performer and teacher with 32 years experience and a very diverse range of musical skills. He studied shakuhachi flute in Japan for 7 years in the tradition of Zen Buddhism and has also spent much time in the Brazilian Amazon forest immersed in musical healing practices.

Adrian is a classically trained musician who has performed in various bands and orchestras around the world.

Suzanna was trained by Leonard Orr, the founder of Rebirthing and is a member of the British Rebirthing Society. She lives in Glastonbury where she works with individuals and holds breathing groups and retreats. Her background is in energy healing for 12 years from shamanic trainings in Mexico and Africa.  She also draws on shiatsu and family constellations in her work.

“You have so inspired me by group rebirthing with the sacred music it is so beautiful..
